Miley Cyrus' parents file for divorce, read on

New Delhi:

Popular singer Miley Cyrus’ parents Billy Ryan Cyrus and Tish Cyrus will be ending their marriage soon as her mother has filed for divorce from the singer’s father.

According to court records received by Fox News, Tish filed for divorce, on April 6 in Williamson County, Tennessee. In the divorce file, she quoted “irreconcilable differences.” The file also shows that Tish and Billy Ray have been living individually since February 2020.

It looks likes, the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement as Tish has asked for an “equitable division and distribution” of the marital assets.

As per Fox News, this is not the first time the couple has started divorce proceedings. Billy Ray first filed for divorce in 2010 but ended up withdrawing his plea months later. Three years later, Tish filed for divorce again in 2013 but they managed to work things out in couple’s therapy.

A joint statement has been issued by the couple through a family spokesperson to PEOPLE which reads, “It is after 30 years, five amazing children, and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts. We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”

Further added, “We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents. We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important. With Love and Hope… Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.”

For the uninversed, Tish and Billy Ray tied the knot in 1993 and have five adult children together Miley, Noah, Brandi, Trace, and Braison.
