A fight had ensued between the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Chanaka Amil Rangana and Deputy Chairman D.V. Shanka at a hotel in Kataragama at around 7.00 pm on Wednesday.
Pradeshiya Sabha member Bathiya Gallawatta who owns the restaurant where the alleged incident occurred was also injured in the incident.
The Deputy Chairman is currently receiving treatment at the Debarawewa Hospital in Tissamaharama while the Chairman is receiving treatment at the Kataragama District Hospital.
Both have lodged complaints with the Kataragama Police regarding the incident.
The dispute is allegedly related to the recent presenting of the Budget at the Kataragama PS.
Kataragama Police are conducting investigations.
