Jammu and Kashmir: Two LeT terrorists killed, 3 soldiers injured in Srinagar encounter

Aasif Suhaf, Srinagar:

Two terrorists belonging to The Resistance Front (TRF) wing of the Lashkar-i-Toiba (LeT) have been killed in a gunfight in Beshembar Nagar of Srinagar on Sunday.

Inspector General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar told News24 that both the terrorists have been killed and a search operation is on.

The IGP further said that one of the two terrorists killed in the gunfight was involved in the recent killing of CRPF personnel in Maisuma.

The encounter had started after a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Beshembar Nagar following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, police officials said.

It’s pertinent to mention that on April 4, one CRPF trooper was martyred while another was injured in a shoot-and-run attack by terrorists in the Maisuma area near Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
