Jammu and Kashmir: 4 terrorists killed, 1 soldier martyred in Baramulla encounter

Baramulla Encounter:

Security forces have got great success in the ongoing encounter in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir which started during the early hours of Friday. The security forces have so far killed four terrorists here.

However, one security personnel has been martyred in this encounter while three security personnel have also been injured. The encounter was still on at the time of writing this report. According to reports, two to three terrorists are still hiding near the encounter spot.

According to the police officer, on the basis of intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in Malwah area of Baramulla, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation there. 

Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists started firing. The security personnel also appealed to the terrorists to surrender but they did not agree and kept firing. After which the security personnel also had to take charge and open fire.

Earlier this month, four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The slain terrorists were identified as Aaqib Farooq Thokar and Waseem Ahmed Thokar, residents of Hefkhuri in Zainapora, and Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Shokeen Ahmed Mir, residents of Sugan.

Meanwhile, in Srinagar, defence spokesperson Col Imron Mousavi said that three soldiers were martyred and five others were injured when an Indian Army vehicle crashed while on its way to the encounter site.
