Jahangirpuri Violence: Delhi Police unearths new gang behind Hanuman Jayanti riots

New Delhi:

As the police investigation is progressing in the violence in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi, new revelations are being made. The Delhi Police is conducting an investigation into this violence.

Now according to the new information that has come out in this case, it is a gang of 20 to 25 people who work to disturb the peace, instigates youth and causes riots.

In the investigation of the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch, it has come to the fore that the way there were riots in North-East Delhi two years ago, in the same way violence was hatched in Jahangirpuri. If sources are to be believed, not only has the PFI funded heavily for this, but it had also started plotting it several days ago. Not only this, a day before the violence, the members of PFI had prepared a strategy to carry out the violence by meeting in Jahangirpuri. About 25 people, including the main accused Ansar, Sonu Chikna and Salim, attended the meeting.

In February 2020, there were riots in North-East Delhi in protest against the Central Government’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC). After that, the involvement of PFI in the Shaheen Bagh demonstration case was revealed for the first time. If sources are to be believed, the way funding was done through PFI in these riots. Funding was done for the Jahangirpuri violence in the same way. The crime branch has got the evidence of this and keeping that in mind, it is proceeding with the investigation.

Police sources say that during the investigation, the crime branch has got information of 20 to 25 such people, who were active during the CAA and NRC protests and the North East Delhi riots. The location of all these has been found on April 15, Jahangirpuri. Only after this the investigation of the crime branch has progressed in this direction.

There was a conspiracy to cause a big riot

According to sources associated with the Crime Branch, the manner in which the violence was planned in Jahangirpuri was bigger than the riots in North-East Delhi two years ago. Several meetings were held for this violence, along with weapons were also provided to the miscreants.

The miscreants who spread violence expected that many people would die in the stampede as soon as they started pelting stones and firing on the procession. After this violence will erupt on a large scale. About 20 members of PFI were present in Jahangirpuri on the day of violence to incite people to spread violence. More than 100 PFI student wing members live in Jahangirpuri. There was a plan to include them too.
