IPL 2022: Big blow for Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, Pravin Amre penalised for improper conduct

The 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw a lot of drama during the match played on Friday night. Delhi Capitals went down fighting against Rajasthan Royals. 

During this match, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, fast bowler Shardul Thakur and assistant coach Pravin Amre were involved in a no-ball controversy. Strict action has been taken against all of them by the BCCI.

was found guilty of instigating the no-ball controversy against Rajasthan Royals. The BCCI and the IPL organizing committee have imposed a fine on him. Delhi Capitals pacer Shardul Thakur and assistant coach Pravin Amre have also been fined.

When this dispute happened, Praveen had left the dugout and entered the playing arena. He has also been banned for one match for leaving the dugout and entering the field.

Pant was fined 100 percent of the match fee. He violated the IPL code of conduct in the match played against Rajasthan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. 

According to an official statement from IPL, Pant admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction.

Delhi bowler Shardul was fined 50 percent of his match fee. He also supported the captain in the no-ball controversy. He was found guilty of breaching Level 2 of Article 2.8. 

Thakur admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction.

The team’s assistant coach Praveen has also been fined 100% of his match fee. Along with the match fee, Praveen has also been banned for one match for breaking the IPL code of conduct. He had entered the ground to stop the match when there was a no-ball dispute and this is a violation of Level 2 of Article 2.2.
