Fodder Scam: Lalu Yadav gets big relief from Jharkhand High Court

Fodder Scam: 

RJD supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has got a big relief from the Jharkhand High Court. 

The Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to Lalu Yadav. After getting bail, now Lalu Prasad Yadav will come out of jail.

Lalu Yadav had been convicted in five cases related to the fodder scam. In 1996, the CBI had registered 53 cases for wrongful withdrawal of different amounts from different treasuries. This money was allegedly said to be spent on cattle and their fodder. Of the 53 cases, the case of Doranda Treasury was the largest. In which the maximum of 170 accused are involved. Out of this, 55 accused have died.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted of five fodder scam cases, was granted bail by the court of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh of the Jharkhand High Court with certain conditions. A special CBI court has sentenced Lalu Yadav to five years imprisonment and a fine of 60 lakhs in the illegal withdrawal from Doranda treasury case.

Citing Lalu Prasad Yadav’s growing age and 17 types of diseases, his lawyer has urged the court to grant bail. Lalu Prasad’s lawyer says that he has spent 41 months in jail in this case. Whereas half the term of punishment is only 30 months. He has been in jail for 11 months more than half the sentence, so he should get bail from the court.

Lalu Prasad Yadav is a prisoner of Ranchi’s Hotwar Jail. Those who were admitted to RIMS for treatment. In the course of treatment, Lalu has been sent to AIIMS Delhi for special treatment after one kidney fails. Lalu’s condition is said to be stable now. His creatinine level has reached above 5. Lalu’s daughter Misa Bharti is looking after her father in Delhi.
