Apparel manufacturer Emjay-Penguin donated 4,500 dry ration packs to its workforce before they went home to their villages for the New Year.

The event was organised through the company’s Athwela CSR program, to make their Sinhala and Tamil New year celebrations a memorable event, and to ease their burden during these difficult times. Emergency lamps were also distributed to their female workforce, to help out during the prolonged power outages.

Emjay-Penguin conducts various projects under their Athwela CSR program to aid the livelihood of the citizens who live in close proximity to their factories spread across Kurunegala and Kandy. The CSR projects include medical camps, blood donation camps, book donations for school children, tree planting campaigns, donations to schools and hospitals, career guidance programs and environment cleaning projects.
