Coronavirus Pandemic: Noida residents fear another lockdown, active Covid-19 cases cross 500

The

fear of another lockdown has gripped the residents of Noida, as the Gautam Budh Nagar district of

Uttar Pradesh (UP)

reported over 100 Covid-19 cases on Thursday (April 21, 2022) for the second consecutive day. 103 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Noida yesterday, taking the number of active coronavirus cases in the district to 529.

According to the data released by the authorities, 81 patients were cured of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

The rising number of Covid-19 cases in the district is a cause of concern for the residents. Uttar Pradesh (UP) has a total of 980 active COVID-19 cases in the state, out of which 529 are in Noida alone.

However, a spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh government said on Thursday that even though the number of COVID-19 cases is increasing, there is no need to panic and the risk to those taking the vaccine is very low.

The official said that according to health experts, it is possible that there will be an increase in new cases of the disease in the coming days, but the current form of the virus is “normal”.

He said that there is no need to panic, but there is a need to be careful.
