Congress leader Kharge slams BSP chief's allegations, calls upon Oppn leaders in fight against BJP, RSS

New Delhi:

Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday strongly retaliated against Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati who alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has ‘ill feeling’ toward Dalits. He also asked Opposition parties to get along as a unit to fight against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

“Congress had invited Mayawati to join them and lead the alliance against BJP (in UP). But she didn’t. Rahul Gandhi reiterated it yesterday,” said Kharge. “The Public is suffering from inflation, joblessness, and RSS is controlling institutions. All Opposition parties should unite in this fight against them,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Mayawati refuted claims of Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi about offering an alliance as well as Chief Minister post during Uttar Pradesh elections to the former saying that his comments are ‘fallcious’.

Maywati said, “Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of that BSP is afraid of BJP and that we were asked about the alliance and offered Chief Minister post to me, to which I didn’t respond is outrightly fallacious.”

“Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments show his inferior feelings and malevolence towards the Dalits and the BSP,” she added.

However, Kharge denied the allegations and slammed the BSP leader by saying “No, this is not right. Congress party has always been with people, it always fights both inside and outside the Parliament to find a solution to every issue. What she said is not correct.”

On being asked if BSP still has chance to build an alliance in future, Kharge said, “there is no use of speaking now, the time will speak itself.”

Mayawati also said that Congress can neither mend its own way nor can it set its own house in order, intrudes into our matters.

“Congress and Rahul Gandhi should think 100 times before commenting on the BSP,” she added.
