AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the demolition of illegal construction in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi. Owaisi alleged that the BJP has declared war on the poorest people by destroying houses in Delhi just like in Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Uttar Pradesh (UP).
The Hyderabad MP was reacting to the demolition of alleged illegal encroachments in riot-hit Jahangirpuri in New Delhi.
“BJP has declared war against the poorest people. In the name of encroachment, it is going to destroy houses in Delhi like UP and MP. No notice, no chance to go to court Just punishing the poor Muslims for survival,” Owaisi tweeted.
Owaisi also demanded that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should clarify his “doubtful role”.
“Is his government’s PWD part of this demolition drive?” Owaisi said.
Owaisi wrote on Twitter, “Did the people of Jahangirpuri vote for him for such treachery and cowardice?! His repeated refrain of “police is not in our control” will not work here. There is no longer even a pretense of legitimacy or morality. . . hopeless situation.”
