Afghanistan: 30 killed as massive blast blows up mosque in Kunduz province

Kunduz (Afghanistan):

The war-torn land of Afghanistan has once again been shaken by a bomb blast. People are scared by two major incidents that happened within the last 24 hours.

On Friday, a massive bomb blast took place at the Mawlawi Sikandar Mosque in the Imam Sahib district of northern Kunduz province. More than 30 people have been reported killed in this dangerous bomb blast, while others are badly injured.

As reported by Tolo News, the police chief of Kunduz’s Imam Sahib district Hafiz Umar said that an explosion took place at Mawlawi Sikandar Masjid in the district this afternoon. Security sources and eyewitnesses said more than 30 people were killed and injured in the incident, Tolo News reported.

It has been mentioned in the report that the victims injured in the bomb blast have been admitted to the district hospital.

Earlier on Thursday, there were bomb blasts in three different places in Afghanistan. The first blast took place at the Sai Dokan Mosque in northern Mazar-i-Sharif, killing 30 and injuring another 40.

After this, the second explosion took place on the roadside in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul, in which two innocent children were badly injured. Yesterday, the third and last blast occurred in Kunduz province, targeting a vehicle.

There have been regular reports of bombings and major attacks in the days following the Taliban’s occupation of Afghanistan. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
