Russia's invasion threatens democracy, security across Europe: Kamala Harris

Washington (US):

Amid Russia’s ongoing military operations in Ukraine, US Vice President Kamala Harris warned that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine poses a threat to all democracies.

“Russia’s invasion threatens not just Ukraine’s democracy; it threatens democracy and security across Europe,” Harris said at the Democratic National Committee’s meeting on Saturday, CNN reported.

“The ocean that separates us will not leave us untouched by this aggression,” she said.

On her recent trip to Poland and Romania, she informed that she emphasized that the “greatest strength” of the alliance is its unity. “The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance,” Harris said.

Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, three days after Moscow recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions, Donetsk and Luhansk as independent republics followed by the announcement of a “special military operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine.
