Russia-Ukraine War: More than 3 million people have fled Ukraine

Kyiv (Ukraine):

More than three million people have fled Ukraine for neighboring countries amid Russia’s ongoing military operations in Kyiv, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

According to the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), the number includes over 1.4 million children and about 157,000 foreign nationals living in Ukraine, The Kyiv Independent reported.

Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, three days after Moscow recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions, Donetsk and Luhansk as independent republics followed by the announcement of a “special military operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine.
