'Fundamental contradictions, but there is certainly room for compromise': Russia, Ukraine talks to continue

Kyiv (Ukraine):

The negotiation talks between Russia and Ukraine will continue on Wednesday, informed Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podoliak.

“We’ll continue tomorrow. A very difficult and viscous negotiation process. There are fundamental contradictions. But there is certainly room for compromise. During the break, work in subgroups will be continued,” tweeted Podoliak, who is Adviser to the Head of the Office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The negotiation talks are being held on Tuesday after a fourth round of discussions between the two sides started on Monday before being “paused” until Tuesday. The Russian delegation later Monday said that talks are now happening “daily,” state media reported.

Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, three days after Moscow recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions, Donetsk and Luhansk as independent republics followed by the announcement of a “special military operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine.
