The Matugama Police are conducting investigations into an incident where a woman had been shot dead in the Matugama area on the night of February 15.
The victim is a 38-year-old woman from Balika Road, Matugama. The motive for the murder has not been revealed. Police say two persons with firearms had entered the woman’s house and shot her.
The woman’s body is kept at the Kalutara Nagada Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
