UP Election 2022: Amit Shah says no farmer needs to pay electricity bill if BJP gets 'another opportunity'

Shikohabad (Uttar Pradesh):

Ahead of the voting for the third phase of Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that farmers will not have to pay electricity bills if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is voted to power again in the state.

Addressing a public meeting here, Amit Shah said, “Give us another opportunity and for the next five years no farmer in Uttar Pradesh will pay electricity bill under our government.”

Attacking Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Amit Shah said SP is Samajwadi just for namesake as ‘S’ in Samajwadi means to collect ‘Sampati’ (property), while ‘P’ stands for encouraging Parivarvaad’ (dynasty politics) in the state.

“Akhilesh’s motto is to collect tax and go on foreign vacations but BJP’s motto is to collect tax and implement welfare policies for the poor,” said the Union Home Minister.

Voting for the third phase of the Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 20 (Sunday). The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
