Son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case was released on bail on Tuesday.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday (February 10) had granted bail to Ashish Mishra. He left the jail after all the formalities.
“The court had demanded a surety amount of Rs 3 lakh twice. There will be no restrictions on Ashish Mishra for going out of the city,” Avdesh Kumar Singh, lawyer of Ashish Mishra said.
On Thursday, Defence Counsel Salil Kumar said, “During arguments on bail application, we raised that Ashish Mishra was falsely implicated as he was not present at spot.”
The lawyer further said 169 affidavits have been filed support of the statement stating Ashish Mishra was not present at the spot of the incident.

Advocate Srivastava also said electronic evidence showed that Ashish Mishra was not there when the incident occurred. He was 4 kilometers away from the point of the incident.
On October 9, 2021, Ashish Mishra was arrested for his involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri case in which at least four farmers and a journalist were killed during a protest against the now-repealed farm laws. The farmers were crushed to death under the wheels of a convoy of cars, including the one that belonged to Union Minister Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’.
The convoy had ran over a group of farmers demonstrating against the visit of deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to Teni’s native place for a programme.

Ashish was declared the prime/ main accused in the chargesheet filed by Special Investigation (SIT) in Lakhimpur Kheri incident that took place on October 3. His bail in the case rejected multiple times in the past.
