SLAF station morawewa undertakes paddy harvesting of low income farmer community

The Sri Lanka Air Force station in Morawewa has undertaken paddy harvesting on behalf of the low income farmer community there using a newly acquired combine harvester machine.This was inaugurated on February 12 at Morawewa under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Lalith Sugathadasa. Initially, 31 paddy farming families were selected under the recommendation of Divisional Secretariat Morawewa and Paddy Farming Societies in the Morewawa area.It is intended to harvest 93 acres where three acres of each family would be harvested free during this initial phase. The second and third phases will be conducted at Kanugahawewa and Ampara areas. (Pictures by SLAF Media)
