Punjab Elections 2022: EC stops Sonu Sood from visiting polling booths to 'influence' voters; car impounded

Voting for the assembly elections is being held in Punjab today. Voting which started at 8 am is going on peacefully but the Election Commission is on full alert. In Moga, the Election Commission confiscated film actor Sonu Sood’s car. According to sources, Sonu Sood was going to the villages.

Complaints were given to the Election Commission that people may get influenced by looking at the celebrity in favor of Congress party candidate. After this, the Election Commission confiscated Sonu Sood’s car. The actor’s sister Malvika Sood is contesting from Moga on a Congress ticket. At the same time, Akali and Congress workers clashed in Babu Singh Colony, Patiala., during all this, one person got injured.

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Labh Singh Ugoke in Barnala’s Halka Bhadaur said that his car was deliberately attacked by Congress workers. At first, he thought that BJP leaders had attacked, later it was found that the youth who attacked with 20-25 young men was the son of Congress leader Rajwinder Singla. Ugoke said his life was saved because the car was locked.
