Debutant Ravi Bishnoi could not have asked for a better start to his international career as he is awarded Player of the Match on the same he is handed his cap for T20I.
Bishnoi dismissed two West Indies batters in the same over putting India in the driver’s seat in the first T20 of three-match series that helped India register a win by 6 wickets.
The pacer is currently enjoying a “dream come true” moment as he is rewarded for performance by POM title.
“
Feeling better now (no nerves). It’s a dream to play for India and it felt good. I was nervous at the start but wanted to contribute for the team as we know West Indies is one of the strongest teams in T20 cricket. It’s slightly a challenge to grip the ball when there’s dew. I never thought about this (winning the MoM) but it’s a dream come true moment for me,” said Bishnoi after the winning moment.
India’s bowling performance was complemented by the batters as each one who walked to the crease and hit significant runs for the team.
Praising the debutant Ravi Bishnoi who clinched two wickets in a single over, Sharma said, “Bishnoi is a very talented guy, which is why we drafted him into the squad straight away. We see something different in him. He’s got a lot of variations and skillset with him. He can bowl at any stage and it gives us a lot of options to rotate the other bowlers. Very happy with his first game for India and he’s got a bright future and it’s just about us now on how we use him.”
