New Delhi:
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been delivered a big shock by the Punjab Election Commission.
The Punjab Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday requested the senior SP of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar to file an FIR against Arvind Kejriwal for “violating the code of conduct and making baseless allegations against other parties.”
The Election Commission has given these instructions after the complaint of Shiromani Akali Dal. It is noteworthy that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission seeking punitive action against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal for violating Election Commission guidelines.
Meanwhile, a case has also been registered against Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress candidate Sidhu Moosewala for allegedly going door-to-door campaigning in Mansa constituency after the campaign ended on Friday evening.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered in City-1 Mansa Police Station under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (disobedience of order duly by a public servant). Channi reached Mansa on Friday evening for door-to-door campaigning. Voting is scheduled for February 20 in Punjab.
