West Bengal: Student given 2 Covid-19 vaccine doses on same day!!

Two doses of the coronavirus vaccine were given to the same student on the same day at a school in West Bengal on Tuesday. 

The incident at a school in the town of Debra in the West Medinipur district of West Bengal. 

The student allegedly informed that he has already been vaccinated once but still he was vaccinated for the second time on the same day.

The headmaster has admitted the error and claimed that the second vaccine was administered by mistake as it was assumed that the student was lying out of fear. 

The doctor’s advice has been taken after learning about the incident. The headmaster said that the student is healthy. The matter is being investigated, said CMOH of West Medinipur district.

The vaccination process has also started across the country for the above twelve years. According to the Co-WIN portal, about 35 million people between the ages of 15 and 18 have been vaccinated so far. 

Another 40 million vaccines will be given to 15- to 18-year-olds. Then the vaccination of 12 to 14-year-olds will start. The DCGI has given India Biotech Covaxin clearance for 12 to 18-year-olds in the country.

On the other hand, the Calcutta Municipality insisted on speedy vaccination of 15 to 18-year-olds who are not in school. On Tuesday, there was an awareness campaign on behalf of the municipality in Ultodanga. 

Vaccines are being given to 15 to 18-year-olds at the vaccination center in the municipality. 

On Monday, Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim ordered immediate action in this regard. Students of schools where vaccination is not available will also get the vaccine at the vaccination center of the municipality by showing their identity cards.
