COVID-19: Tamil Nadu govt announces online exams for all universities

Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy has announced to conduct semester examination for all universities across the state in online mode after considering the Coronavirus situation prevailing in the state. 

“In view of the Covid-19 situation, we have changed our decision to conduct offline exams for college students. To avoid any delay in graduating for final year students, the state universities will conduct semester exams in online mode from February 1 to 20, 2022.” 

The minister further told that the examinations that are due for the month of June and July 2022, will be conducted with the students having physically present at the examination centres. 

To avoid the malpractices during conducting the online examination, Ponmudy ordered the management to make proper arrangements. He also urged students not to indulge in any kind of wrong activities while the examination. 

Earlier this week, the state government had suspended all the university examinations scheduled for this month-end due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. 

As of Saturday, the state has recorded a surge in Coronavirus cases with 8,153 new cases while there are 1,87,358 active cases at present.
