Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh (UP) Varun Gandhi is the latest political figure to have tested positive for COVID19.
Varun Gandhi tweeted that he tested positive after he was in his constituency for three days, adding that his symptoms are “fairly strong”.
Citing that the country was caught in election campaigning amid the third wave of COVID19, Varun Gandhi requested the Election Commission to “extend precautionary doses to candidates and political workers”.
“After being in Pilibhit for 3 days, I have tested positive for COVID with fairly strong symptoms.
We are now in the middle of a third wave and an election campaign.
The Election Commission should extend precautionary doses to candidates and political workers as well,” Varun Gandhi tweeted.
