Women suffering everyday in Pakistan, says ' Sanam Teri Kasam' star Mawra Hocane

Pakistani star Mawra Hocane completed 10 years as an actor recently.  Mawra, who has also starred in Bollywood film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ opposite Harshvardhan Raane, took to social media and had an #AskMawra where her followers put all sort of queries forward. From marriage plans to upcoming projects, the actor went candid while answering her fans’ most burning question. 

Amid this, Mawra also addressed a serious issue that has been the topic of concern among the Pakistani film fraternity for the longest time. When a user asked when will Pakistani dramas stop showing women oppression, Mawra replied, “Till last women of Pakistan is freed”. “Most women are suffering everyday in their homes.. we are a depiction of our society! Inshaallah one step at a time,” she added. 

She also talked about what she wants her roles to achieve as well. “It’s my dream to play characters that can change lives.. whether it’s Sammi or Aaliya or Anaya or even meherbano.. I want that girls belonging to all classes of society can take something away from my characters InshaAllah ! I hope I can lend them strength!” she said. 

Mawra Hocane started her career in 2011 and has worked on 25 projects over the span of her decade-long career that include Ye Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 and Daasi.
