TS Telangana Inter +1 result: All failed students will get grace marks

New Delhi

: The Telangana government has announced to pass the failed students of Intermediate First Year (11th standard). The decision came when only 49 percent of Intermediate First Year students cleared the exam, after which the student’s union initiated a protest that the student’s case should be sympathetically considered in view of the COVID-19 situation.

State Education Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy said 4,59,242 candidates had appeared for the exams. Out of which only 2,24,000 candidates passed the examination.

Students are demanding to add 30 marks, so that about 83,000 students could clear the exam, leaving about 1,50,000 candidates failed.

“Since Intermediate second year (12th standard) is very important, the CM directed that all first-year students be passed by giving minimum pass marks of 35. We are giving minimum marks to all and making them clear the exam,” State Education Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy added.

The decision is taken while considering students’ future so that they don’t feel psychological pressure over the exam result as Second Year exams are also approaching, she said.
