The Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), along with the Inter Collegiate Committee, yesterday requested that all Sri Lankan citizens above 60 to ensure that they receive the booster doses of the Pfizer Vaccine against COVID-19 infection, made available by the Government Theelderly community who have not already completed the initial two doses of the vaccination are also kindly requested to complete their vaccination, the SLMA said in a release. Furthermore, the SLMA reiterates the need for all frontline healthcare workers to completetheir vaccination schedule and to receive the booster dose as well. This recommendation is made, based on the higher risk of infection with gatherings during the festive and New Year Season and the possible transmission of the Omicron Variant of COVID-19.
