Samsung unveils pioneer project to empower the nation’s youths

Samsung, Sri Lanka’s No. 1 smartphone provider, recently unveiled their pioneer project to empower Sri Lankan youth, the Samsung Student Ambassador Programme.

Through this initiative, Samsung paved the way for 26 undergraduates to be exposed to new technologies, insights from tech leaders and access to many novel Samsung launches. The feedback received from all Student Ambassadors following the completion of this programme for 2021 was phenomenal.

“We are extremely excited and happy with the results that were reaped through the Student Ambassador Programme. These students have done and experienced so much in their short tenure with us and we are very excited to reveal what is yet in store for them. Our students have been very immersive and enthusiastic throughout their training and we look forward to working with them in the future as well,” said Kevin SungSu YOU, Managing Director, Samsung Sri Lanka.

Samsung Student Ambassador Programme came to life as a platform for young and talented university undergraduates in Sri Lanka to enhance their knowledge and skills. The Samsung Student Ambassadors got the opportunity to participate in various programs and events that the global tech giant conducted in the last couple of months including Expert talk sessions with renowned guests, training programs, Samsung competitions and events. Samsung was excited to share the experiences of their skillful student ambassadors and what they had to say about the Samsung student ambassador program.

From building soft skills, engaging with people from all walks of life and learning new things as a team to being a fully-educated Samsung Student Ambassador, Samsung’s chosen representatives went through a great deal of engagement and training, along with many entertainment sessions. The Samsung Student Ambassador programme paved the path for the Sri Lankan tech-savvy youth to connect through a common platform.

For 2022, Samsung has revealed their plans to expand the student ambassador base covering all-island government and private universities, which will be starting in the first quarter of 2022.
