No Need For Speed: Unruly vehicle crashes inside Atal Tunnel - watch SHOCKING video

A tourist car rammed into the wall and crashed while overtaking in Atal Tunnel, Rohtang Pass. No lives were lost in the accident, however, the driver and two passengers got minor injuries and wounds. 

In the video shot from another car, shows a speeding vehicle, at an uncontrollable speed overtaking from the right and moves to the left lane. Due to the high speed, the vehicle skid and hit the edge before turning to right and hitting against the wall. 

Manali Police, investigating the incident, slapped fine of Rs 13,500 on the car driver. 

As per reports, the tourists in the car were going to Lahaul from Manali. While crossing the stretch through Atal Tunnel, the person on wheel lost control and hit the car against the wall. 

The video of the vehicle hitting against the wall at the Atal Tunnel soon went viral on social media. 

Atal Tunnel is the world’s longest and is 13,058 feet high. The 9.02-km underpass connects Lahaul of lahaul-Spiti district and Manali of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. 

The speed limit at the tunnel’s entrance has been fixed at 40 km per hour and inside the tunnel the speed of vehicle has been stipulated at 60 km per hour. Digital speed indicators are positioned at various spot within the tunnel to consistently remind drivers of their vehicle speed. 

There are also automatic vehicles’ number and reader cameras installed in the tunnel to help police keep traffic violators in check.
