Kerala Congress MLA P T Thomas dies at 71

New Delhi: 

Kerala Congress MLA P T Thomas passed away early on Wednesday at Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He was undergoing treatment for pancreas related ailments. He was 71.

Thomas is survived by wife Uma Thomas, sons Vishnu Thomas and Vivek Thomas. 

Since 2016, Thomas represented the Thrikkakara assembly constituency in Ernakulam. He also served as one of three working president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

From 2009 to 2014, PT Thomas represented Idukki constituency in the Lok Sabha. Twice he represented Thodupuzha constituency in Kerala  Legislative Assembly.

Not just these, Thomas also served as the editor and managing director of the Indian National Congress mouthpiece ‘Veekshanam’.

Born in 1950, PT Thomas started his political career as worker of Kerala Students Union (KSU). The KSU is the student outfit of the Congress in Kerala.
