MG Motor India is all set to increase the export of its vehicles from India.
Rajiv Chhaba, Chairman and Managing Director, MG Motor India stated, “However, at present, there is a chip shortage. We need to prepare ourselves for the long term. We want to expand our base and make India an export hub for neighboring markets.”
MG Motors has already started exporting
the first consignment of MG Hector
in Nepal.
Scope
MG Motor has become a well-known name in India in just a few years. People are compelled to buy its vehicle because of its amazing looks and features. At the same time, MG Motor plans to expand in its neighboring countries of India.
MG Hector sent to Nepal
Chhaba informed that the export will continue with the Hector SUV for now and the mid-sized SUVs MG Astor and ZS EV will also be exported next year.
Exploring possibilities for MG Hector in UK
Chhaba, Director, MG Motor India said that Nepal is the first country, but we are also exploring other markets in the region like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
“Along with this, we have talked to Britain about this.
In the UK the driver’s seat is on the right. We are also exploring the possibilities of MG Hector in the UK,” he said.
Delay due to Corona
Talking further about this, he said that another right hand driving market, MG Motor is about to start operations in South Africa. It has been delayed due to Corona. There are plans to export to markets in South Africa, which will also be a potential market for us once MG starts operation.
