Former South Africa coach Amol Muzumdar warns Team India against THESE players

New Delhi:

The Indian cricket team is sweating hard to improve upon the performances during

previous

tours of South Africa.

Team India coach Rahul Dravid is on his first overseas tour. His real test is about to take place.

Former Indian batsman

Amol Muzumdar, who has also served as South Africa’s batting coach, has named two Proteas batsmen that the Indian team should be wary of.

“Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram will always be my biggest players in this team. South Africa is a very difficult team. Dean Elgar and

Aiden Markram

may prove to be extremely dangerous on this tour,” Amol Muzumdar told the media.

“Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram have always been my favourite players. If Markram plays in the first Test, their confidence will be high. Elgar has found success after failure, South Africa is known as an obsessive team and Elgar is at the top of this list. As for Markram, I always believe that whatever temperament he has, I would like to see him succeed because I think he is a superstar. India should not take these two players lightly,” he added.

The former Ranji Trophy star also felt that Team India need to be wary on the extra bounce in the pitches of South Africa.

“South Africa has a bit of a tennis ball bounce. This is different from the bounce we usually experience in Australia and England. There is a difference in the pitches and touring teams often find it difficult to deal with extra bounce,” Amol Muzumdar said.

Many people believe that this time the Indian cricket team is a strong contender to win the Test series by defeating South Africa on its own soil.

Amol Muzumdar, however, cautioned against underestimating the South Africa team.

“Even though this is a great opportunity for India to do what it has not been able to do on South African soil till date, it will be wrong to underestimate South Africa,” he said.

Amol Muzumdar, one of the greatest batsmen to grace Indian domestic cricket, named two South African cricketers and said that they should not make the mistake of taking India lightly.

India has won two consecutive series in Australia

The Indian team has done well in Test cricket over the last few years. During this time, Team India twice managed to defeat Australia on its soil. Team India also has a 2-1 lead in the four Tests played against England.

However,

Amol Muzumdar

believes that playing in South Africa will be a different experience.
