At Rs 95.41 per litre, petrol prices in Delhi cheapest among metro cities

New Delhi: 

Petrol price in Delhi sees an ease on Thursday. The fuel is retailed at Rs 95.41 per litre in the national capital, and is cheaper from top five metro cities and other places in NCR. 

Delhi petrol price dropped drastically after Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the capital slashed the value added tax (VAT) on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.4 per cent. This has resulted in reduction of petrol price by Rs 8 per litre. 

Petrol price in other metro cities

In Mumbai, the financial capital of India, petrol is being sold at Rs 109.98 a litre, while in Chennai people are paying Rs 101.40 for a litre of petrol. 

In Bengaluru, petrol is sold ar Rs 100.58 per litre and in Kolkata, petrol is purchased at 104.67 a litre. 

In Hyderabad petrol is costing Rs 108.20 per litre, while in Thiruvananthapuram petrol is being sold at Rs 106.36 a litre. 

Price of petrol in other NCR cities

In other NCR (National Capital Region), petrol is being sold at a slight higher rate. In Noida, petrol is being retailed at Rs 95.51 a litre, while in Gurugram it is costing Rs 95.90 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices in the neighbouring townships of Delhi differ due to difference in freight charges.  

On November 3rd, The Government of India had cut excise duty on petrol by Rs 5. per litre and on diesel by Rs. 10 a litre, giving give relief to consumers facing tremendous problem with the record-high retail fuel prices.
