A migratory bird was sighted this morning near the Morningside in Sinharaja forest range for the first time in Sri Lanka, said the Wildlife Conservation Society of Galle .
The Asian house martin (Delichon dasypus) is a migratory passerine bird of the swallow family Hirundinidae. It has mainly blue-black upperparts, other than its white rump, and has pale grey underparts.
The researchers of the Biodiversity Conservation and Weather Monitoring Station has seen two birds of this species for the first time in Sri Lanka.
