UNP urges Govt to probe LP Gas blasts

United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara has called on the Government to take immediate action to investigate the explosion of domestic gas cylinders without leaving the consumers to be killed.

He was speaking to the media yesterday (26).

First, the Government failed to provide the country with the required gas. There are allegations that the gas cylinders provided later were of poor standard.

Gas cylinders have exploded in several areas. Such incidents were reported from Colombo 7, Weligama, Kandy, Kottawa and Hokandara.

Range Bandara urged the government to deploy experts to conduct a transparent investigation and disclose their reports to the country and take action against companies selling low quality gas to consumers.
