A special security plan will be implemented at the Parliament complex from Friday (12) onwards as the budget proposal shall be presented by the government, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena informed Parliament today (8).
Accordingly, the main car park in Parliament will be closed on that day, he said.
The Speaker also said that the Public Gallery would be reserved only for diplomats and that steps would be taken to direct the vehicles of the Members of Parliament to relevant car parks.
He also said that it was important for the MPs to come with their drivers on that day and that traffic police officers would be deployed to handle traffic.
