Royal Enfield SG650: Concept model revealed, know the specialty of this bike

New Delhi:

Royal Enfield has revealed the new SG650 concept motorcycle at the 2021 EICMA. The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept looks like a new 650cc cruiser motorcycle that will be launched in other markets including India in the next few months. The company has also revealed the 120th Anniversary Edition of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650. The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept-based cruiser motorcycle is likely to be called the Shotgun. The company recently trademarked the name RE Shotgun in India. Royal Enfield said that the SG650 concept reflects the futuristic design theme of the brand.

The concept motorcycle comes in brushed aluminum and black color with digital graphics. At the front, round headlamps are provided with integrated position lights. There is a cowl that surrounds the headlight and covers the instrument console.

The side profile gets a chunky fuel tank with the RE badge in the blue color finish. This is a single-seater bobber concept. The tank and wheels are made from a solid block of aluminum with a CNC billet. The rear profile has cut fenders which look nice. It also gets thicker Metzler tyres.

The concept looks like a pre-production model, as many body parts and features are ready for production. The frame, suspension set-up, switchgear, and fuel tank design appear to be production-spec. The motorcycle gets USD front forks and twin shock absorbers. It is likely to share the braking system with the RE 650 twins – 320mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the rear. A Dual-channel ABS system will come as standard.

The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept-based motorcycle is likely to get the engine and gearbox combination with the RE 650 twins. It is powered by a 650cc parallel-twin engine that produces 47bhp at 7,150rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
