Landslide warning issued

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) issued.
Level 2 (Amber) warnings was issued for Badulla and Ratnapura districts. They are:

Galle District – Baddegama and Elpitiya
Kalutara District – Mathugama, Bulathsinhala, Palindanuwara and agalawatta.
Kegalle District- Rambukkana and Dehiowita
Kurunegala District – Narammala
Ratnapura District – Elapatha, Kiriella, Nivithigala and Kuruwita.

The level 1 yellow Alert was issued for following areas:

Badulla District – Ella and Passara
Colombo District – Seethawaka and Padukka
Galle District – Galle Four Gravets, Yekkalamulla, Neluwa, Akmeemana and Nagoda
Kalutara District – Ingiriya and Horana
Kandy District – Ganga Ihala Korale, Udapalatha, Yatinuwara, Harispattuwa, Pasbage Korale, Gangawata Korale, Doluwa and Udunuwara
Kegalle District – Ruwanwella, Aranayaka, Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya,
Galigamuwa, Yatiyanthota, Deraniyagala, Mawanella and Warakapola
Kurunegala District -Rideegama, Mawathagama and Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.
Matale District –  Rattota and Ukuwela Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.
Nuwara Eliya District – Ambagamuwa Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.
Ratnapura District –  Elapatha, Kiriella, Nivithigala and Kuruwita Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.

Accordingly, residents in surrounding areas have been warned to be watchful on the possibility of landslides slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence if the rain continues.

People who are living in or are close to all mountainous areas and man made cut slopes within the relevant DSDs have been asked to pay special attention to the warning.
