For the love of law! Guwahati lawyer invites guests to wedding with Constitution-themed wedding card

It is often said and believed that weddings are surely a match made in heaven, but in today’s day and age, there is need of seal of approval from the right government authorities as well. And it seems that a couple from Guwahati in Assam took this a step forward. They even went on to designed their entire wedding cards like a Constitution.

A lawyer from Guwahati Advocate Ajay Sarma, who is getting married to Pooja Sarma, got a Constitution-themed wedding card made for his special day. Pooja works as an assistant professor in Hyderabad.

The couple is scheduled to get married on November 28 (Sunday). The caption of their wedding card read, “In the Beautiful Court of Life”. 

One side of this unique card reads, “Notice of Wedding Reception”.

The card has the names of the bride and groom written on either side of the scales of justice to represent equality. The wedding invite also mentions the laws and rights that govern Indian marriages.

“The right to marry is a component of Right To Life under Article 21 of the Indian constitution. So, it is time for me to use this Fundamental Right on Sunday 28th November 2021,” the card reads.

The wedding card also mentions, “When lawyers get married they just don’t say “YES” they say – “We accept the terms and conditions”

According to reports, the groom Ajay, wanted to make a unique card for his wedding after having joked about it to his colleagues. According to the lawyer, he wanted to put humour on the card to make it look different and wanted to have a wedding invitation that people would read from top to bottom.

Ajay’s family got to know about the card only after it went viral, with him stating, “The first number on the card is of my father. After he started receiving calls, he asked me, ‘What card did you make?’ I had made two cards. The first one was traditional and the other to invite the legal fraternity.”
