As the term of office of the Local Government Institutions is coming to an end next year, the Elections Commission has decided to prepare the basic organizational arrangements for holding the Local Government elections to elect the people’s representatives.
It was decided to inform all the Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Elections in the districts to take necessary steps in that regard including to prepare the relevant forms, enumerate the officers and vehicles, inspect the proposed polling stations and identify the deficiencies of human and physical resources.
The Commission has also decided to inform all Political Parties, represented in Parliament, if there are any citizens who are not registered in the 2021 Electoral Registry to get registered with the registry before December 3.
