Two militants killed, three army soldiers injured during encounter at Shopian Kashmir

Srinagar. 

Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter with joint team of security forces at Dragad area of Shopian in South Kashmir.

Official sources told News that two militants have been killed whose identification is being ascertained, three army soldiers were also received injures during the fierce gun battle with militants. Officials said that arms and ammunition has been recovered from the gunfight spot, while as search operation is going on in the area.

Earlier a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. Officials said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

On the other side NIA raids are also going on at multiple locations in different districts of Kashmir valley. Officials sources told News24 that raids are being conducted in the areas of Pulwama, Awantipora, Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag. They said fresh raids are being conducted related to fresh non-local civilian killings in Kashmir Valley.

Pertinently 15 militants including several Commanders of TRF and Jaish have been killed during 10 encounters in the past 15 days and around 900 detained by security agencies for questioning in Kashmir valley.
