Three TRF militants killed in Shopian South Kashmir.

Srinagar. Three militants affiliated with Lashker-e-Toiba (TRF) killed during fierce gunfight with joint forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police IGP Vijay Kumar told News24.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said out of three slain militants, one has been identified as Mukhtar Shah of Ganderbal central Kashmir, who as per IGP shifted to Shopian after killing of non local street hawker Virendra Paswan of Bihar last week.

Virendra Paswan a street cart vendor was killed on 5th October last week at Lal Bazar area of Srinagar, TRF militant outfit had claimed responsibility for the killing of Paswan.

IGP Vijay Kumar said the encounter lasted for around nine hours after a group of militants was intercepted at Tulran, Imamsahab area of Shopain in South Kashmir.

The trapped militants were asked to laid down their arms and surrender before the forces, which they refused and started firing upon the joint operation party triggering a fierce gunfight.

As per the officials no collateral damage was reported during this operation, after the killing of all three militants incriminating materials including arms & ammunition have been recovered from the gunfight spot.

Police said the Identification of other two slain militants is being ascertained, while search operation is still going on.

Pertinently four encounters rocked Jammu and Kashmir in the past 24-hours that saw the death of five soldiers and five militants.
