The Sri Lanka- China Friendship Association (SLCFA) commended the Communist Party of China (CPC) for demonstrating the world that a nation can build her country, can be comparatively stronger and forceful and also reach highest levels of development without resorting to be imperialist, hegemonic or an invader who plunders lands and resources of other countries.
SLCFA President Attorney-at- Law Ananda Goonatilleke said this issuing a statement on the occasion of the 72nd National Day of the People’s Republic of China which falls on October 1.
He said that the resilience of a system that has been built with its human capital was shown during the pandemic. Not only did China demonstrate that the new variants of COVID-19 could be controlled but also that a nation did not need to choose between its economy and the lives of its citizens while fighting the pandemic.
In this year, the CPC has hailed that it has eradicated extreme poverty, made several forays to space and are finishing up China’s first space station, which is to be fully functional by the end of next year.
China has achieved these gigantic successes only because the CPC has always followed the scientific dialectical guidance of Marxism – Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and proved to the world an alternative development model, Goonatilleke said.
Even in the struggle against the worse pandemic the humanity ever faced, the COVID-19, China led by the CPC, is doing everything possible to save the people of the world and the Global South, an endeavor that no other country or a nation has launched up to date, the statement further said.
