The University Grants Commission Chairman Professor Sampath Amaratunga has said that, the Vice-Chancellors of universities can reopen the universities on any date starting from today.
The universities are allowed to open subject to the COVID guidelines and under the first stage the stundents who have completed two weeks after getting both doses of a vaccine against COVID-19 will be allowed to attend lectures, he further said.
Under the first phase, the Universities are advised to resume classes for only 25 percent of students.
