The price of a 12.5 Kg domestic cylinder of Litro Liquid Petroleum (LP) Gas was increased by Rs.1,257 with effect from last night. The new price will be Rs.2,750 per 12.5 Kg cylinder, Litro stated. The prices of other cylinder sizes will also be increased accordingly.
Both Litro and Laugfs Gas have been demanding an increase in the prices of LP Gas from the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) for some time. Price controls on LP Gas and several other items were removed recently to ensure that there will be no shortage of these items in the open market. The Government has however warned importers, suppliers and traders against any unfair or excessive price hikes.
