Kotmale Speed Hill Climb in December

A good news for the motor car drivers and riders, a hill climb is coming soon. To most people, ‘hill climbing’ is an activity involving , car and motor bike lovers, it’s a sport that involves driving quickly

up a narrow asphalt hillside course, often little wider than the car itself. Hill climbing has been part of Sri Lanka motor sport since the early days and many famous drivers and riders, have competed on the hills.

Cars and motor bikes tackle an uphill course one-by-one, with the quickest time dictating the winner. Competitors are given practice runs before the competition starts, and you’ll get a minimum of two competitive runs, with your best time counting in the final results.

The Senkadagala Motor Sports Club and the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club is preparing for the grand motor racing events. The organising committee met recently and decided to conduct the Senkadagala Motor Sports Club and the Sri Moor Cycle Club’s most looked forward Kotmale Speed Hill Climb on 10th, 11th, and 12th of December at the Kotmale Hills. On the 10th it will be the Practice Day, 11th December Motor Cycle and Club Events and on 12th Motor Car Events. Earlier they had planned to have it on the 1st and 2nd of May, but had to hold it due to the corona issue. . All top motorsportsmen are expected to take part in this event.

Lanka Motor Cycle Club Members are putting out their efforts to make this event a successful motor race event. They have planned for events of Nissan March, Mini 7, Modified Cars, Ford Lasers, SLGT up to 3500cc, Subaru Legacy, Formula cars, Truck, and Jeeps also Motor Bikes from 250cc to 1000cc events.
