Indian Southern Naval Command Chief meets Navy Commander

The Flag Officer Commanding-in –Chief Southern Naval Command Indian Navy Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka met with Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters yesterday (October 25).

Six training ships of the 01st Training Squadron of the Indian Navy arrived in Sri Lanka for a bilateral naval exercise on October 24 and Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla’s four day official visit to the island also coincided with the above event.

The visiting Flag Officer Commanding-in–Chief Southern Naval Command Indian Navy was accorded a special Guard of Honour and welcomed by Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters.

Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla is expected to meet the Foreign Secretary, Commander of the Air Force, Commanders of Eastern and Southern Naval Areas as well. Further, Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla will attend several programmes at the National Defence College and Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee. He is scheduled to leave the island on October 28.
