In Kashmir Amit Shah Promised early polls followed by statehood for Jammu Kashmir

Home Minister of India Amit Shah said decision taken on August 05, 2019 will be remembered and celebrated for generations as it marked the end of militancy, corruption, nepotism, and dynasty rule in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah said the day started a new era of peace and prosperity in UT.

Amit Shah said government of India is committed to hold elections in J&K soon after the delimitation exercise ends and the statehood will be restored post polls.

Union Home Minister reached Srinagar early today on a three-day visit to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Soon after the arrival Shah straight way drove to the slain Jammu and Kashmir Police Inspector Parvez Ahmad’s residence at Natipora Srinagar, where Shah handed over the job documents to wife of martyred inspector and express governments all support to the family.

Later in the evening while addressing the Youth Club Members of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar the Home Minister said that “Modi government has laid the base for New Kashmir. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir is now talking about the development, skill up-gradation, and employment besides scholarships for education compared to what it used to be two years ago which include the violence, stone-pelting, and military-related activities.”

Amit Shah said before BJP came to power, early 70 years of ruler’s have given nothing to the common people here other than three families who themselves rule the region for so long.

Shah said that there were apprehensions that militancy will increase but between 2004 to 2014, a total of 2081 civilians were killed which is 208 every year while between 2014 to 2021 only 30 civilians have died every year which depicts that the militancy has reduced.

“Stone pelting incidents have declined. I assure you that all the elements trying to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir will be given a proper response and no one will be given a chance to act as a hurdle in the prosperity of the region and we are committed to it”.

Amit Shah said forty thousand lives including of forces personnel have been lost to this conflicts so far, he said that the first requirement of development is peace and it’s the job of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate militancy from the region and the government can only assist for the same.

“I don’t want to give answers to those who talk about Pakistan but I have come to talk to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Without the direct reference to any political party or any leaders Shah said that it was a planned strategy to incite violence by some elements demanding relaxation in the curfew post abrogation of article 370, so that clashes erupt and youth get killed and their political goals were achieved.

On the first day of his visit Amit Shah has spent most of the time in Srinagar Rajbhawan on the banks of Dal Lake where he also chaired the crucial unified command meeting on security situation of Jammu and Kashmir. Shah also inaugurated the direct Srinagar-Sharjah flight besides meeting the youth of region.

Tomorrow on his second day of visit amit Shah will be visiting Jammu region where he will likely address a gathering of people at Zorawar Stadium after his proposed rally at Bhagwati Nagar were cancelled due to bad weather. In evening Amit Shah will reach back to Srinagar for several other programmes before flying back to Delhi on Monday.
