Megastar Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to extend birthday greetings Amitabh Bachchan who turned 79th on Monday. He shared a throwback picture with Big B, which was taken on the sets of the Telugu film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Amitabh Bachchan played a cameo role in the period film. Along with the throwback picture, the actor also penned a heartfelt note for his ‘guru’ Amitabh Bachchan.
Taking to Twitter, Chiranjeevi wrote, “Wishing My Beloved Big Brother, My forever Guru, the One and Only Amit Ji @SrBachchan a very Happy Birthday. Many Many Happy Returns!! Health, Happiness and More Power to You Amit ji!! (sic).”
For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan had played a cameo role in Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy. He had not even charged a penny for his role. When Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi offered him flight tickets and accommodation, he politely refused and added that he was doing the part inly out of love.
In an interview to Film Companion, Ram Charan said, “He didn’t even charge for his flight tickets. We couldn’t push him after a point.” Chiranjeevi added, “That is a great thing. That way, Mr Bachchan didn’t even allow me to keep a private jet for his travel. I asked him about his accommodation and he said that he’s doing it for our friendship. We know each other for a long time. That way we are so lucky to have him on board.”
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a period film which chronicles the story of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Set in the 1950s, the film also featured Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, Ravi Kishan and Jagapathi Babu in important roles.
